We all hate getting spam calls from those sneaky scammers pretending to be from well-known companies, right? That’s where Brand ID and Call Defence comes in.

It’s a handy tool for our members that helps spot when someone’s pretending to be a legit company - so you can avoid getting caught out. Hurrah. We, alongside other telecommunication providers, have partnered with a company called 'Hiya', which makes these features possible.

How does Brand ID and Call Defence work?

When a company calls you, your phone usually shows their number. But scammers can fake this, making it look like they’re ringing - that’s called spoofing. Brand ID and Call Defence helps you dodge this trick.

Here’s the marvellous bit! With these features, you’ll see a label on your device screen during a call telling you if the caller’s identity has been checked and verified, or if something smells fishy. It basically gives you the lowdown before you even pick up.

Note: "Suspected spam" will appear on your phone's call log

What if I still get scam or spam calls?

Brand ID and Call Defence is a great help, but nothing’s perfect. Always stay sharp:

  • Don’t give out personal info on the phone unless you’re sure who you’re talking to.

  • Hang up if you feel unsure or pressured.
