What’s an access agreement and why do I need one?

It's permission to put the fibre cable across your property and is occasionally called "wayleave".

Unlike older, slower broadband connections that may use existing cables, we only install super fast fibre right to your door. That means the engineers will need to lay a new cable to your home.

The homeowner gives permission for this by accepting the Terms and Conditions when signing up for giffgaff broadband. This is the access agreement. If you're not the homeowner then you may need to get permission from your landlord, letting agency or council first.

The agreement gives our engineers the right to access the land/property and install your new kit. We may also need permission from neighbours to run the fibre cable across their garden in a few unlikely situations. But the engineers will sort that on the install day if the neighbour is home.
