All you have to do is turn off your recurring plan, if you have one. Then delete your payment details and auto credit top-up, if any, from your Payment Details.

How to do this through the App

To turn off your recurring plan;

  1. Access the giffgaff App

  2. Under your active plan, look for 'Auto-renew' and toggle it to 'OFF'

To delete your payment details:

  1. On the App homescreen, tap 'Account'

  2. Tap 'Payment methods'

  3. Select your card

  4. Select 'Remove card'

  5. Save the changes

How to do this on a phone browser

To turn off your recurring plan;

  1. Access your phones browser and log into your giffgaff account

  2. Scroll down until you see 'Next plan' and click 'Change recurring plan'

  3. Untick the box

  4. Tap 'Save settings'

To delete your payment details;

  1. On your account home screen, tap 'Account' and then 'Orders and payments'

  2. Tap 'Remove this credit/debit card'

  3. Tap 'Yes, remove it'

A members account and information will still be available after 6 months of no activity, it’s just their phone number that will no longer be available if they’ve not ported it out.

Moving to another network?

You can cancel your giffgaff account immediately without having to wait 6 months:

Take your giffgaff number with you

If you want to keep your giffgaff number, you need to request a PAC which you give to your new network. They will cancel your giffgaff account for you and bring your giffgaff mobile number to your new network. The PAC is valid for 30 days.

Close giffgaff account (no number transfer)

If you don't want to keep your giffgaff number, you need to request a STAC which you can give to your new network. They will cancel your giffgaff account for you. Your giffgaff number will be recycled and given to a new giffgaff member. The STAC is valid for 30 days.
