Why is my data slow?

How to check issues with slow data.

There’s a few reasons that can cause your data to be running a little slower than usual:

  • Traffic flow - If lots of people are using the mast that you are connected to at the same time, it can get crowded and congested causing your data to slow down

  • Signal - If you’ve got a weak signal where you are, this can cause your data to run slower

Here’s what you can do to get to the root of the issue and get back on track:

  1. First, check the network status and coverage in your area by using your post code. There could be issues with a mast or poor coverage.

  2. Check our community page for updated information on improvements to our service, network updates and outages.

  3. If there are no outages or issues in your area, toggle 'flight mode' 'ON' and OFF'.

  4. If that doesn't help, try turning your phone 'OFF' then 'ON' again. Frustratingly, sometimes that’s all it takes.

  5. Still having issues? You might be connected to a mast that is congested, or far away. Performing a manual roam creates a new connection to the network and should connect you to your closest mast or a mast with less congestion.
