How can I buy and view a travel data add-on?
Travel data add-ons can only be purchased via the giffgaff app. They can be found by tapping ‘View travel data add-ons’ on the app Home page. Currently, you will need a credit or debit card to purchase a travel data add-on.
Note: If you’re travelling to multiple countries and need more than one add-on, it’s best to buy each new add-on as soon as you arrive in that country. That way, you get the full usage time for each one.
Which EU destinations can I buy a travel data add-on for?
You can buy travel data add-ons for all EU countries and selected destinations (we call this the EU zone). That’s 27 EU member states and 10 additional destinations.

Can I get a travel data add-on for countries outside of the EU?
Yes. Unlike in the EU zone, our plans don’t have a data allowance included for these countries, so it makes sense to pick up a travel data add-on.

How long can I spend abroad whilst using travel data add-ons?
When you purchase a Travel data add-on for your trip, the 63-day roaming limit is lifted for the duration of the add-on's validity. This benefit applies to all our included destinations, whether you're in the EU Zone, China, Switzerland, Türkiye (Turkey), Ukraine, the USA plus 19 other countries . This ensures you can use your phone without worry, knowing you won't incur additional data charges as long as your add-on is active. You can get a refund for a travel add-on if you haven’t used any of the data and it’s within 14 days of buying it. Get in touch with one of our agents to sort this out for you.
If you’ve used any data or it’s been more than 14 days, you can’t get a refund.
