How to lift the bar on your lost phone if you find it

How to get your phone unbarred after you've found it, and what happens to your SIM.

Written by Andy

Lost your phone and added a bar to keep it safe? Good news - if you've found it again, we can get the handset working again.

There's one part we can't undo, though. When you reported it lost, we switched off your old SIM for good and sent out a replacement with your number on it. That can't be reversed, so you'll need your new SIM before you can make calls, send texts or use data.

Getting the bar removed

Grab your phone and have your account details to hand, then chat with our agents. Let them know:

  • You've found your phone and want the bar removed

  • Why the bar was added in the first place

That's everything we need to sort it quickly.

Note: Removing the bar means your handset can connect to a network again. It doesn't bring your old SIM back - that one's switched off permanently.

What happens next?

Your replacement SIM usually arrives within 3 to 5 working days. Pop it in your phone, activate it, and you'll be back up and running with the same number you had before.
