How do I switch my broadband to another provider

How to leave giffgaff for another broadband provider, with or without One Touch Switch, and what happens if you're moving home.

Sorry to hear you're thinking of leaving, we'd be gutted to see you go. If there's anything we can help with first, chat with one of our agents. If you've made up your mind, here's how leaving works.

Switching with One Touch Switch

If your new provider uses One Touch Switch (OTS), they'll handle the whole switch for you, so you won't need to contact us. You choose the date you'd like the switch to happen, and they take care of the rest. Once they’ve told us you’re leaving, we’ll send you any info you need about final charges before you go.

Your giffgaff broadband stops on the same day your new service starts, so you won't pay two providers at once.

Switching without One Touch Switch

If your new provider doesn't use OTS, chat with one of our agents and let them know you're leaving. They'll talk you through:

  • Any charges that apply if you're still in contract

  • When your final bill will be issued

  • When your broadband with us will end

If you're still in contract

If you're in a fixed term and want to leave early, early termination fees may apply. Our agents will explain exactly what applies to you.

Moving home?

One Touch Switch won't cover a house move, because it's a new connection at a new address rather than a switch at your current one. Chat with our agents to arrange ending your giffgaff broadband, and they'll let you know what happens next.
